Hi, I’m Lauren Boltas, the founder of The Midwest Playhouse.

When I moved to St. Louis in 2021, I quickly realized how difficult it was to find quality childcare—especially after having my twins. At one point, I needed care for three children under 16 months old, and it felt nearly impossible.

In March 2022, I opened a small in-home daycare from my own home and called it The Midwest Playhouse. That’s where it all began.

Childcare has always been a part of my life. Throughout my teens and twenties, I worked as a babysitter, part-time nanny, full-time nanny, newborn night nanny—you name it! Caring for children has always been more than a job for me—it’s been a calling.

In May 2024, I felt led to expand the vision and rebrand The Midwest Playhouse as a Christian home daycare, built on the foundation of faith and values. Our program now weaves the core teachings of Christianity into everyday learning—helping children discover what it means to follow Jesus Christ through love, kindness, and gentleness.

As a mom of four children under the age of five, I understand the importance of building a strong foundation early. It’s an honor to partner with families who want their little ones to grow in both knowledge and character.

“Let all that you do be done in love.”
— 1 Corinthians 16:14 (ESV)

Hello! My name is Mrs. Amanda. I am a mom of two and have been married to my best friend for 16 years. Our family is at the heart of everything I do, and I am so grateful for the life we are building together.

My journey began in early childhood education, though I stepped into the corporate world for a season to be fully present with my children. I eventually realized my joy was found with children, and returning to education felt like coming home. I believe this is where God has called me to serve, and I view my work as a ministry and a place where I find great joy.

Teaching is more than instruction—it is guidance, growth, and relationships. I believe children thrive in environments rooted in faith, kindness, and reasonable expectations that honor their developmental stage.

My passion for teaching extends to both children and educators, as I believe learning is lifelong. When we stop growing, we stop thriving. I strive to lead with intention, patience, and compassion, creating spaces where curiosity is encouraged, effort is valued, and growth of any kind is nurtured and supported. I am excited to support our teachers as they grow and help create even warmer, more joyful classrooms for our children.

I am here to support our staff through onboarding, training, and ongoing professional growth, please contact me for support.
